Weddings at Northcote Manor
Northcote Manor is a multi award winning north Devon wedding venue that is known locally for both it's luxurious spa and it's incredible restaurant. Despite being larger it's incredibly similar in feel and warmth to The Horn of Plenty in South Devon but with the added extra's of the amazing Spa and the ability to get married outside.
I fell in love with this venue from my first wedding photography gig and have loved it ever since. The combination of the tranquil, relaxed atmosphere with the luxurious grandeur of a Georgian country house. It's easy to see why this wedding venue ranks high in my top 10 favourites.
It's not just the Manor though. Within no time at all the staff will all feel like long term friends and family members themselves. I struggle to explain exactly what they do that's different to other venues but they do it oh so well.
The day to day running of the hotel is done by Richie who is also the head chef.
Which brings me to the food, if you're a foodie or wine connoisseur you will LOVE this place. Richie has a number of awards for his fine dining restaurant including 2 AA rosette restaurant. My top tip, the beef wellington is sublime, you must try that.
If you decide to get married at Northcote Manor you'll have a choice of 3 locations for the wedding ceremony. There's the library which is ideally suited for the smaller more intimate weddings. For those with a few more guests you could opt for the larger and brighter conservatory.
Either are suitable all year round for both summer and winter weddings but during the warmer months you also have choice of an outdoor wedding within their beautiful grounds. They even have a purpose built gazebo.

Talking of winter weddings I've been fortunate to have photographed a few Christmas weddings at Northcote Manor and it's exactly how you would imagine. They have a roaring open fire and the smell of the real christmas trees flows throughout the Manor. It's warm, cosy and perfect.
Wedding photography wise the options are endless. Inside we have the beautiful staircase while outside we're totally spoilt with incredible views over the Taw valley. From perfectly located benches, paths with natural arches from the surrounding tree's situated within impeccably maintained grounds. It really is a wedding photographers dream.
