How I approach your wedding day
My Style: Creative Photojournalism
I describe my approach as Creative Photojournalism - a relaxed, storytelling style that captures your wedding day as it naturally unfolds. For most of the day, you’ll barely notice I’m there, quietly documenting all the real moments, emotions, and in-between glances that make your story unique.
When it comes to your couple portraits, I take a lightly guided approach. Rather than stiff, formal posing, I’ll give you simple direction - like walking hand in hand or sharing a quiet moment - so the interaction between you stays natural and unforced. Yes, I’ll guide you into the best light and composition, but what happens between you is real. No awkward poses. No cheesy smiles. Just authentic, beautiful moments captured with care.
Bride & Groom Preparations - Capturing the Morning Moments
Your wedding story doesn’t begin at the ceremony - it starts much earlier, in the quiet excitement of the morning. That buzz of anticipation, the laughter, nerves, and meaningful little details are all part of the magic, and I’m there to document it from the very start.
Whether it’s a heartfelt glance between family members, a treasured heirloom being fastened, or a spontaneous burst of laughter among bridesmaids or groomsmen, these behind-the-scenes moments are just as important - and just as beautiful - as the vows themselves. They deserve to be remembered.

The Wedding Ceremony - The Heart of Your Day
The ceremony is the emotional centre of your wedding day - a moment you’ll want to relive again and again. I’m there to quietly capture all the meaningful details, from the groom’s nervous anticipation to that unforgettable first glance between you both.
As you exchange vows, I’ll be documenting the joy, the emotion, and all the little things you may not even notice in the moment - your parents wiping away tears, the laughter when a ring hesitates to slide on, or a light-hearted moment from the celebrant that breaks the tension.
After the signing of the register, I’ll move swiftly to the end of the aisle to photograph that joyful walk back - your first as a married couple - surrounded by smiles, applause, and heartfelt congratulations from your guests.

The Wedding Reception – Celebrating in Style
As the formalities fade and the music starts to play, it’s time for everyone to relax, connect, and celebrate. This is one of my favourite parts of the day - when the energy shifts and personalities shine. It’s also where my love of people truly comes into its own.
By this point, I’ve already spent time mingling with your guests, helping them feel comfortable and at ease around the camera. Many barely notice I’m photographing at all. I’m no longer seen as “the photographer,” but more like a familiar face - a guest with a camera. This natural connection allows me to capture real, candid moments without interrupting the flow of the celebration.
Whether it's heartfelt speeches, bursts of laughter over shared stories, emotional hugs from old friends, or a full dancefloor under twinkling lights, I’ll be right there in the mix - quietly documenting it all in a relaxed, documentary style. The result? Honest, joyful images that reflect the spirit of your celebration just as it happened.
Wedding Speeches - Stories, Laughter & Heartfelt Moments
Grooms – here’s my top tip: If you're feeling nervous about your speech (I was on my own wedding day!), consider doing it before the meal. You’ll enjoy your food so much more without a dry mouth and a stomach full of nerves. Trust me - it makes all the difference.
As your photographer, I genuinely love the speech section of the day. It’s a time when personalities shine, stories unfold, and the room fills with laughter, emotion, and applause. From the heartfelt words of the father of the bride to the often cheeky tales from the best man, these moments are rich with expression and connection.
I focus on capturing every layer of it - the speaker’s emotion, the reactions of the couple, and the honest laughter (and happy tears) from your guests. Glasses are raised, hugs are shared, and it all happens so quickly - but in these fleeting moments, there’s beauty. My goal is to document it all with sensitivity and style, so that when you look back, the same emotions rise to the surface once again.
The Evening Party & First Dance
As the evening unfolds, I continue in the same relaxed, unobtrusive way - quietly blending in while capturing the atmosphere leading up to your first dance.
This part of the day brings a new energy, and often, a new challenge: low light and dynamic movement. Fortunately, I thrive on the technical side of photography just as much as I love documenting weddings. Whether it’s the soft glow of fairy lights or the flash of a spotlight on your first steps together, I use creative lighting and expert timing to preserve these unforgettable moments with clarity and emotion.
Although my coverage officially ends after the first dance, I often find myself staying a little longer - especially if the dance floor is buzzing. There’s something irresistible about those carefree moves, heartfelt sing-alongs, and the electric energy of a packed celebration. These lively frames add the perfect finishing touches to your visual story.
When the time comes, I’ll slip away quietly, leaving you and your guests to dance the night away - and begin the next chapter of your story.
